In the letters section of the Guardians comic's latest issue, Wacker hinted that he had discussed the project at a "writing summit" for Disney XD's Ultimate Spider-Man.
"Now, look, I can't officially confirm that we spent a LOT of time talking about the Guardians of the Galaxy cartoon but wouldn't that HYPOTHETICALLY? be amazing?" he wrote.
"Seriously though, don't ask me about it because it totally didn't happen."
A movie adaptation of Guardians of the Galaxy - starring Chris Pratt, Benicio del Toro, John C Reilly, Glenn Close and Doctor Who's Karen Gillan - will be released in cinemas on August 1, 2014.
The Avengers writer-director Joss Whedon recently admitted that he was initially sceptical about the James Gunn-directed film.
"It seemed out there to me," he said. "Then they brought on James [Gunn] and he really turned me around. As soon as they said James, the movie started to make sense to me in a way it hadn't."
