Stars shine at Lehigh Co. Bicentennial Party | Regional: Lehigh ...

Stars out at Lehigh Co. Bicentennial

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

The stars were out Saturday night, and not just in the sky.?

Some of our area's most famous alumni celebrate Lehigh County's 200th birthday at the Allentown Fairgrounds.?

They include a four-time Super Bowl player, a Golf Channel anchor who got his start right here on 69 News, and someone who been "Dancing With the Stars."

All 24 of them are being inducted into Lehigh County's Bicentennial Hall of Fame.

Before he had the "Queer Eye" for the straight guy and danced with the stars, Carson Kressley was a hometown boy from tiny Claussville, Lehigh Co., where his family still owns a horse farm.

"I love coming back to the Lehigh Valley," he said.? "I had a great childhood here and grew up here, and my entire family is still here."

Kressley is one of 24 area natives being inducted into the new Hall of Fame.? NFL great and Allentown native Andre Reed is another.

"You always, you're always brought back here in some kind of way in what you did," said Reed.

After graduating from Dieruff High and Kutztown University, Reed spent 15 years in the pros and led the Buffalo Bills to four Super Bowl appearances.? Today, he hosts a summer charity golf tournament here in the Valley.? It's his way of giving back to an area he's still close to.

"Just living here, and just the people here, were really down to earth, hard-working people that really are family oriented," said Reed.

The stars came down to earth to do a little Q&A for the hometown crowd -- all to celebrate Lehigh County's 200th birthday with history, food, and fun.

And before he left... Carson showed 69 News a little love.

"Look everybody, I'm Kathy Crane!", he said.? I love Kathy!? You came to our farm once, remember?"

All 24 inductees were honored in a special ceremony Saturday evening.
